Hey! It's Kweh-chan from TFB.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, it's a lovely drawing! I'm absolutely terrible with pencil and paper, so you done quite a nice job with this. Overall, the image has a very clean look to it, which I find is quite hard to accomplish on paper. Your outline is very smooth; however, I like how it gets a bit thicker near the tips of her hair - it's a nice touch. I can see you've also got an eye for detail, and a pretty good grasp on the movement of her hair. I quite like the pose; she looks sweet, but cunning as well!
If I might suggest a few improvements, perhaps you might try adding some more prominent shading to her skin and clothes. I know from experience that shading takes a while to fully grasp, especially with pencil, so why not make some practice sketches to try out some skills? I definitely like how you included the shine across her hair; however, you don't need to make it quite so rigid and outlined. If you have a look at some images of shiny hair (or even some anime-style hair), you'll see that the shine follows a far-less consistent pattern, and is often as spiky as the hair, itself. Finally, the lines on the neck are a little too prominent, and give an almost anorexic appearance; try softening and shortening them a bit, as well as widening the distance and angle between them. I am, however, impressed that you noticed such details on the neck, and decided to incorporate them - definitely don't give that up! As I'm absolutely awful at explaining things, looking at anatomy tutorials or charts can be very helpful. There no shame whatsoever in using references to help with your art (I use them all the time), so long as you don't trace or copy them.
Overall, it's a very nice picture! Definitely keep up the good work, and perhaps start by working on the improvements I suggested.
Hope that helps!
Thank you sooo much for taking the time to do this kweh! I totally owe you one! Maybe when I get the chance, ill digital art this, but at the moment, as you know, I'm super busy! Thank you for your help and critics! You said that my neck is a little too prominent. Could you explain that when you get the chance! Thank you for your help!
